Passion

Recently my best friend, Lori, traveled to Mexico with her sons Shane and Dylan and future daughter-in-law Ali. This was a planned destination wedding for Lori's niece, Meghan and groom, Andres. A great trip was had by all even though, in the beginning, Dylan did not want to go. He didn't want to miss one of his jobs; plowing of the certain Minnesota snow or calls from the newer job at the fire department. Let me tell you a bit about my Godson, Dylan. When he was 15 his beloved father, Troy, passed away in his sleep in November of 2012. Dylan was there and had to experience this life changing event square in the face. He had always been by Troy's side and became as mechanically inclined as his dad. Once licensed Dylan bought his first truck and then he purchased a plow for the front of the truck so he could work during the Minnesota winters in addition to working at the recycle center. Dylan has always loved big-rig's, Caterpillar's and firetrucks. Knowing this, it was no surprise that at 18 years old, Dylan tested for the local fire department as a volunteer firefighter and made it! He has spent the last 12+ months working at the recycler place, plowing snow while also studying as a EMT and Firefighter. Last fall, he passed all testing with flying colors. In February 2018 Dylan won the Rookie of the Year Award from our local firehouse. I'm not surprised and super proud of him. He is a unique child....MAN....and I wanted to send him a card that acknowledged him...Dylan is living his dream while....living with passion!
Thank you Dylan for your service and commitment! I love you, Godson.
