Some time for quiet

 

Quiet time is a needed activity and I have 14 days between quarters at school. I am looking forward to graduating at the end of the year! I am using this time to become reacquainted with stamping. I CASED this card featuring a new Stampin' Up set using So Saffron, Sky Blue and C.Chip paper.

This card screams quiet time and I loved the simplicity of this card while the somewhat complex technique of creating a water affect, the sun and shadows. I didn't have the new stamp set so I chose to use Inspired by Nature stamp set. I used the same colors; however, my photo didn't translate as well, so it looks as if I used a more peach color instead of the so saffron. Instead of the Stripes embossing folder for the Soft Sky paper affect, I used the Woodgrain folder. I found it looked more like water. No matter what, I'm just so grateful to have this break in school to allow for some quiet time.
